Does "hours worked" include call?

haha, that's the spirit. No, I was just curious. I'm starting medical school in August and am going through the "surgery is awesome, but..." stage.
 
What, their legs are spread a little wider than they ought to be?
 
I've met more than one "Tan Stewie" down in the ED...
I have met some too... usually doing some island resort or cruise ship medicine (i.e. locums) on all their free time....
 
When figures such as 70 hours/week are quoted does this include call time?

You do realize that "call time" is in most cases is time you are in the hospital, overnight, right?. It's not like you are home in bed until they call you in most cases, at least until you are a fellow or beyond. So when someone says they are on overnight call on Saturday, that probably means they come into the hospital at 6am Saturday morning, and don't get to leave until up to 30 hours later. And in many cases, depending on the field, they will be on their feet working all of those 30 hours.
