I only had an interview with USC back in November and nothing else from other schools in CA, i.e. Loma Linda and Western. Does it mean I should be ready for the next admission cycle? 😕

I don't think you should give up hope! Western has two more interview dates (end of Feb and end of March, I think) and LLU only interviews 10-15 applicants each day (so they must have multiple interview dates left), so there are still plenty of opportunities to interview. I think it might just take the schools longer to contact applicants for interviews at this point because they have started to receive acceptances and rejections for spots they have already offered, so they have to sort through all of this on top of everything else. Don't be discouraged!

USC takes a lot of students off of their active consideration list. They said they're only taking ~35 students per interview day initially, which is only 140 students after the four interviews for a class of 188 students. That means they'll take 40+ more students off the list to fill the rest of the spots plus those opening up from people going to other schools. From what I remember, they'll rank all of the active consideration students and start pulling from the top. I think it's just a matter of waiting, so don't lose hope!

Thank you guys. When it comes to sharing, getting advice, and complaining,....it's always best to do it with people who are in the same process. For USC, i think my ranking will be not be so high. I thought that i would at least get an interview with Western but it seems like that will not happen since the invite for Feb should be out already.....

Well, I would be sad but I'd still definitely apply again...

Again, thanks for comforting me and others.

Yeah, no news is good news on the Western front  , probably the same for Loma Linda. I'd imagine anyone who's going to be rejected due to qualifications already has been. The rest of us are on a list somewhere and as long as they don't run out of need to interview we'll stay on that list. Once their acceptance, alternate lists are full, then we might start hearing about more rejection letters. Until then keep your hopes up. (I didn't hear from Western until late December, and I still haven't heard from USC or LLU)

for llu, did you turn in your application before the oct. 15th deadline or the regular deadline in december? i think llu is still interviewing people from the priority deadline and haven't gotten to the regular applicants. from reading last year's posts, llu interview into late april. as for western, i agree that no news is good news. unless you have been placed on the dreadful on "hold" pre-interview list, you can still land an interview at one of the next 2 interview dates.

Yeah, I turned in everything by September 23rd for LLU, and by August 29th for Western. I guess I'll wait until April. The reason I wanna get prepared is I will graduate in June and would like to know if i need another LOR from my professor. The one that i think would write me an excellent one just retired and I don't know other professors that well....Ugh, I am so worried. If anyone hear something from Western or LLU, please post.

Thank you and good luck to everyone else who is still waiting like me...

I'm still waiting for LLU & USC

Yea, I heard LLU will have interview session until late April or early May. They have the latest interview in Cali, so don't lose hope. ^^
