does NYCOM allow you to defer admission for a year?

Not that I know of. I tried to defer my admission for a year before I started and they wouldnt let me. I'm soooo happy I didnt defer though. Med school and residency take a loooong time. Unless you have such dire responsibilities elsewhere, start when you can. NYCOM is a good time too, I've had a better time here than in college. Sure it's stressful, but I've made great friends and have learned a TON.

good luck.

I'm pretty sure you'd have to reapply if you do not accept their acceptance.
