Does this actually count as reinvention

I have a 3.0 sGPA with the last 60 credits being a 3.5. I'm taking 10 credits at a DO SMP and if it goes well it will be last 70 credits being a 3.6. I was told that this is not a good reinvention or upward trend, as it should be 3.7+. I'm also considering dropping the SMP AFTER the first term grades are in and on my transcript to just focus on my MCAT at this point. Does this count as reinvention for a DO applicant
Edit: The PCOM biomed program does have a guaranteed interview linkage which I meet the requirements of, but I feel like it would be an interview for a waitlist type of thing.
