Shouldn't the ring be heterocyclic (with an oxygen incorporated)? I've encountered similar images online so this is just a sanity check!

You're correct. It looks like the image is supposed to be alpha-D-glucopyranose. There should be a ring oxygen in the back right, like the image shown below.
