Hello,

I was planning on retaking some of my undergraduate classes that I received C's in to improve my GPA but then I came across this statement from my University...

Repeated Courses
Effective Summer 2008 when a student repeats a course only the last grade earned will be used to calculate the grade point average. Courses which are repeated will only count once toward fulfilling the minimum 120 hours required for graduation. This policy does not pertain to courses taken for graduate credit.

Grade Change Limitation
There is a time limit of one calendar year for any changes in letter grades. Grades assigned prior to the recording of a degree cannot be changed after the degree has been awarded.

Does this mean that I cannot improve my GPA because I graduated already? Or that it will help with my GPA but it will not change the undergraduate letter grade? If that's the case, then what's the point of retaking them?
Please help, because I don't get it 😕

if you graduated more than a year ago then your grades are permanent meaning too late for retaking. that's my understanding

Seems like your grades are permanent and you can retake the class if you need credits for graduation. Take different science classes to boost your GPA instead. Go to CC if you need to boost your prerequisites.

I called my university and they confirmed that I will be unable to retake classes to improve my GPA because I graduated more than a year ago. They also said that even if I take classes at a community college or any other university that it would not count towards the improvement of my undergrad GPA (even before I graduate!). That sucks...😡

But I think that I'm going to take your advice sya about taking other science classes and building up a post-bac GPA to prove that I am capable of handling upper level classes. Do you think that it will matter if I take it at a community college or university?
I'll call to make sure anyway.
