Hi guys,
Was wondering if anyone had any idea if working as a dental assistant in the US would help in the admission process?I mean in terms of getting a recommendation letter, will it help in tipping the scale a tad in your favour. Also,is it true that work experience from India is not considered there in the US as its easy to get fake certificates?Anyone having any information about this please let me know.Thanx.

hi pinkpeanuts,
as far as work experience goes,i really don't know how much it helps,it would definitely look good on your resume as well as help u get letters of recommendationsalso, u will be in touch with your field.u could also try to volunteer at any non profit dental/health organisations.......having said that, i know a lot of friends who got into dental schools without any work experience(including myself!!!)
this topic has been discussed here in detail, just do a search.
best of luck.....

Hi Pinkpeanuts I think it doesn't make a difference at BU,CWRU or california schools.
I have heard it matters at UPenn.
take care

Thanx mnm and Pinktooth.Planning to go ahead and work all the same..But hoping to get into school this year itself..Just hope it works out 🙁 .God bless and good luck to you both.
