Hello,

I am considering applying for a position in a Communication Disorders and Speech and Hearing Clinic, but I also need to gain more clinical experience and I was wondering if working in a clinic like this one would be considered clinical experience? Thank you.

Who is seen in this clinic and what are the credentials of the clinicians? If the clinicians are speech pathologists and/or audiologists and there are no physicians in the clinic, then I would say that this is a reasonable job to hold to earn money but it does not, by itself, provide you with sufficient clinical experience to understand the role of the physician in caring for patients or the setting in which patients are cared for by physicians. In fact, I'd not be surprised if the people being seen there are even called "patients".
