My dog just had a quick 30 second seizure. This is the first time he had one. His legs shook a little bit and his eyes were white he also looked like he was trying to chew something. I put him on the floor and waited until he snapped out of it. He did. I gave him water and food (which he ate a lot of) and he went to the bathroom inside the house (I was annoyed, but I was just glad he was alive!).

I know this is definitely NOT the place to be asking this but...

What should I do if this happens again? Is there a hotline number or something? Do I dial 911? Should I tell my parents to take him to a vet?

I WILL tell my parents to take him to a vet but they are on vacation so unless it is a real emergency he probably cannot see one for a few days.

Any advice?

Jef, no one on here can give medical advice to you regarding human or animal medicine. Since you mention your dog's vet, I'd call him/her to ask for guidance. Otherwise, contact an emergency vet clinic for advice.

Closing this thread now....

edit: deppy beat me to the punch 🙂
