Daily Plan: I will start studying at 7 PM (right after work and dinner) to 12 AM.

I know this is brutal but I don't have any other choices, since I am not able to study during the school year with a heavy courseload. I'll be taking my test in September.

Has anyone done this before? If so, please share some advices.

My advice is to take the test in January at the tail end of winter break.

Why do you need to take it in September? You're very, very likely to burn out trying to maintain that schedule.

We went over this before and you said it's risky but doable. So I'm gonna take a shot.

Yeah, I'll probably burn out but I can only study during the summer. I tried to study last semester and it didn't work out too well due to my courseload. I'll be taking even harder classes next year, so I can't really study for the MCAT next semester.

Burning out is for the weak mind. Your schedule is possible if you have zero distractions (no sentimental partner in particular). Just be careful after eating dinner, your body is going to feel sleepy🙂

Thanks for the encouragement! My only distraction is SDN, which is where I'll be visiting when I'm taking breaks (like I am doing now). How will I burn out when I'll be taking breaks surfing SDN?

Hm, yeah. Ok. So the reason for my seeming flip-flop is that I was assuming if you were in a position to do this, you would NOT be using SN2, and therefore, not need to study 7pm to midnight to fit everything in.

Basically my 'risky but doable' assessment was based on your test-taking skills being good enough to do a slimmer study schedule than SN2. SN2 is a totally valid strategy--it obviously has many proven success stories here, but it's waaaaaaay more studying than many people need, and if you're trying to cram all your prep into two months while working full time, you have to be a little more customized in your schedule.

So then I would just say try to be aware of your strengths and weaknesses and don't be afraid to adjust SN2 as needed.

And take at least one night off a week 😉

It's impossible if you plan on strictly following the schedule.

Even if you cut out re-reads, EK1001, and break days, you'll be far too burned out to keep up with the schedule while working full time...I'm having trouble keeping up while only taking a couple classes. But to try this in 2 months? No way. Like the guy above me said, it can take hours to finish an SN2ed day.

Sorry, misleading title. I guess I'll only read TBR (Chem and Phy) and EK (Bio and Verbal) and do 1/3 of its problems in addition to several AAMC.

This TOTALLY depends on how strong your content knowledge is. I'd say of you really want to do this, do the self assessment first. Attack your weak areas, and proceed. God speed

I'd say my content knowledge is average. I got 2 Bs in orgo, 1 B in physics but the rest are all As (though I barely got As in gen chem)

The good news is that I already went over EK last semester, the bad news is that I scored in the low 20s on the AAMC after reviewing EK.

Hm. My only other suggestion would be to check out Spinach Dip's thread. He increased his score 10 points in two months. The thread provides a schedule what you need to do on a daily basis

Hi,

I know this thread is pretty old but I'm in a similar situation.

Current Situation:
-2 months until my November 7th Exam date
-Research about 16 hours a week (we're getting ready to finish up our current projects so I'll be able to scale back my hours to zero hours each week by the end of the month (hopefully)
-Volunteer about 2.5 hours a week (I can't skip this)
-Waiting until Jan isn't really a viable option... starting up another research project late Nov where I'll be working up to 40+ hours a week. We all know the MCAT is changing... if I need a retake I'm going to need time to do so.

Background info:
-I actually took a Kaplan course in the summer of 2012. Did the content review went to the courses. Had to deal with some unresolved issues from a family crisis (death of some family members) didn't take any practice exams or the actual exam.
-I completed my pre reqs 2008-2012 so I don't want to completely blow off content review

I'm following SN2 & tomorrow will be day 5 (terrible I know) I've been playing around with his schedule to try to see how I can jam everything in but I'm just not sure how.

Current Adjustments:
-Using only one day to review practice exams instead of two (and I have some kaplan exams so I plan on taking a practice exam each week starting this week)
-Not doing the hat trick
-Doing my second 1/3's on the reread days
-Complete as much as I can in a day hopefully completing a day and a half to two days in one (but I'm not even sure this is possible!)

HELP ME PLEASE!

Have any of you had success adjusting the sn2 schedule to 2 months?
Any advice/suggestions?

Disclaimer: I know I'm not smart (which is putting it nicely) for leaving only 2 months to do this schedule.
