Program-Specific Info / Q's Dominican university MSOT interview/acceptance cycle 2019

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Is this Dominican in California? I haven't heard anything either :/

I remember during Open House that they will be doing interviews on Feb 2. Surprised I haven't heard anything yet.
I just declined interview as I got accepted to other shorter and much more affordable program. They gave me options of feb 8, or feb 9.
Hope my decline decision will open interview spot for someone else

Does this mean that DU is still sending out interview invites? Do you know anyone else that received an invitation this week?
I received one yesterday too. It’s on the same days (February 8 & 9) offered two weeks ago.

hmm I think they've been sending them out the last 10 days or so. Giving less than a week notice is tough.

Hopefully they're still sending out invites! Even if it was a last minute notice!

I just got an email invitation for an interview. Anyone else?

I just got an invitation today too! The only slot they had available is Friday at 8:30am.
Yeah I saw that too. It was really hard to get work off.. with only a 4 day notice.

Does anyone know when decisions will be sent out? I heard it could be as early as this week!

I think they are supposed to send some out this week, but I'm hoping it is a little later in February since you have to put down a deposit to secure your space, and I'm still waiting on 4 schools. Man, what a stressful time!

I just received my acceptance as well!!! WOOH! Is anyone for sure going here?

I'm pretty hesitant to put down a non-refundable deposit without knowing how much aid I'll get or what other programs I will get into. This is one of the most expensive programs, so aid/scholarships are a must for me. Guess I have 10 days to make that decision?! You?

I think the same thing. This is definitely one of my favorite programs but I'm thinking of asking for an extension which I'm sure they will grant given the financial commitment. For me it's the same thing, I am applying to a million scholarships in hopes of getting at least a 10% help to cover the costs.

Just received my acceptance letter from DU as well! Does anyone have a lead on housing in San Rafael? The cost of tuition plus the cost of living in San Rafael is the only thing holding me back from putting down the deposit to secure a spot. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I am from Nothern California and San Rafael is a pretty expensive area to live because it is a really nice part of the Bay Area!

San Rafael is one of the pricey cities to live in being that the location is right next to SF. I am not sure what kind of living arrangements you prefer, but having your own bedroom can easily be over 1k per month.

Hey, super weird but Dominican sent me a DENIAL letter a few months back. But today they called me and offered me a seat and I'm most likely accepting it.

I know the semester is starting this month. Can anybody give me any insight about that process?

Hi KatOT,

Congrats on your acceptance! But also very odd that they first denied you and then accepted back? Was there not a waitlist? Also, if you don't mind, would you be able to briefly share your stats? Thank you!!
