I'm still a little confused with which LOR's schools will receive. So far I have 1 from a professor, 1 from a pharmacist where i've volunteered for a year, and 1 from my supervisor at a non-pharmacy related job but oriented towards my customer service abilities. I'd like to get a 4th maybe from another pharmacist, but I'm worried that when pharmcas sends all 4 to each school how will the school choose which ones to look at? Could a 4th LOR risk losing control of which letters they see, or will it give the school a choice as to which ones they'd most prefer (i.e. mult. pharmacist letters, a supervisor, etc.)? If its 1st come 1st read, it worries me about getting a 4th letter...b/c almost no schools actually take 4 letters. Can anyone help clear this up for me?

I do not know the answer to this for sure, but from what I was told from one school is that submitting 4 LORs to PharmCAS could actually be a negative thing because they will likely only read three, and if they happen to read 3 out of 4 and that 4th one was your stongest one, then they will never see it. Unfortunately, we cannot prioritize them. For this reason, I only submitted 3. Personal choice, of course 🙂

Check the supplementals to see if you can specify your LOR writers.
