So I received an email from certiphi yesterday about doing the background check. It said right on the email that I was "waitlisted or conditionally accepted to one or more medical schools blah blah blah". Anyways, I applied ED so I called that school and they said they sent it to everyone and they can't tell us our decision until October 1st. I feel as though the background check isn't really something they'd send to all their applicants as it is very lengthy. When I checked AAMC, it says the certiphi check is sent to ED accepted students (didn't say anything about the waitlisted ones, however the email did) but yet the school is saying they sent it to everyone. I also checked to see if I had the choose your medical school tab on quick links of my amcas application and I did not. I'm just not sure what to make of this so if anyone has any knowledge they can share about this, I would appreciate it so much?

What do you think it means? It’s a notification from Certiphi re: a background check. Nothing more, nothing less. Calm down and find something interesting to do this weekend.
