There is a 5300 character limit.

It's a character limit not a word limit so I suppose if all your words were "a" you could have quite a few more words in your essay.

Last year the limit was 5300 characters including spaces, anymore simply won't fit into the space they provide you with and will be automatically cut off. Maybe it changed this year checkout www.aamc.org for reqs
