I just called a few minutes ago. The lady at the admisison office told me the waitlist is moving slowly by mail, but then she puts me on hold and then tells me it will be by phone 🙄 So I have no idea what's going on. Do you guys know if the BLS certification is due by august 1st? I've taken the course 2 weeks ago, but they're having trouble getting the certification out for some reason.

i was given my certification card at the end of the course... then i just faxed a copy of it into the office...

I think it's most likely by phone. But, they sent out those waitlist notifications pretty late and still by mail, so who knows. Maybe the new waitlist notifications are being done by mail and she's just confused.

For BLS, I think you just need to send in any kind of proof. Did they give you a Certificate after finishing the course? My course instructor just gave me a certificate and a copy of the certificate to mail in at the end of the class. It's different in every state, so if yours is slow, maybe you should consider driving accross to another to take it and send it in the same day.
 
does anyone know whether it matters if you get cleared with the health forms first in order for them to pull you off the waitlist?...my health service is pretty inefficient and i would really regret not making it due to this...still hopeful though... 🙄

I'm short one shot of chicken pox and I cant get another one until august 12th. I called them about it since I'm not clear and they said it was okay.

Ive realized that the ppl working the phones say "okay" to everything so make sure you talk to the people that actually have control over admissions. Just a heads up
 
It certainly seems that way. I haven't seen much movement on any of the waitlist boards, so things are not shuffling much.

Does anyone actually know someone that got in off of this waitlist? It's strange for any school to create a waitlist so late in the process (6/29 - 7/10) with this kind of size (est 35-50ish) and not take anyone off of it.

Oh well. GLTA :luck:
 
just called again and a woman said that there IS movement. So keep your hopes up everyone

anyone stuck in a position like me, not wanting to send in secondaries to schools for reapplication until you hear the final word from downstate? It's really getting to me, i don't want to waste all that money/time/effort if i end up getting in, however, i hate waiting so long because i want to get these applications in early. Oh yeah, i'm also studying for the MCAT again. Boy would I love to get the good word from downstate so i didn't have to take that again.

Looks like a little bit of shifting, a withdrawal from Upstate and one from Stony Brook. Let's hope for some continued shuffling.

waitlist 🙁

i dont understand why they are doing this. i highly doubt theyre gonna accept this many people.

i have mcats to study for and i feel like theyre gonna just waste my time with these forms and cpr course and stuff 😡

Wow. That's late. The waitlist here is pretty big. I guess we're back up to 16 on this thread and probably several times that in total. You probably have as good a chance here as any of us, which seems pretty low right now. As far as I've heard from unofficial sources, the waitlist is unranked and selection is random.

I tried earlier today. No one was in. Left a message. But, they probably won't return it. They never do.

Probably more concerned with the next cycle, rather than this one.

Oh well...Nothing much to do but wait now.

edit: Just got through, line's been busy. Nothing new. Same stuff. Waiting list is moving they say, just very slowly.
 
hey guys,

make sure you are cleared by student health in terms of paperwork and vaccinations. i spoke to a woman today who said that admissions would skip over you on the alternate list if you're not cleared. good luck, don't lose hope. I'm hearing of people getting off waitlists at other schools and hopefully that will filter down to us sooner or later.

haha, i guess...i was kind of hoping for more of a final decision (acceptance or rejection)...since its so late i figured that what they would have done.

i called admissions. they said there is movement...but was vague.

I definitely understand you there. It's pretty frustrating to see a list of 17 on this forum and probably three times that in total, and yet none of us have heard any word from admissions or people who've actually been accepted off the waiting list.

I am getting soo frustrated here. I submitted my health forms before july 1st. I was cleared a week later but they still have yet to clear me with admissions. Apparently (last week when i called) they thought I was a third year student and they said that they would clear it up right away. I called today and I am still not cleared. This is crazy!! And is it just me or is it that it is really hard to call the student health services ???

I've called and asked to check on my documents. They'll usually ask for SSN and AMCAS number and then read out health clearance, AHA BLS, and final transcripts status.

so miracles do happen. you must be soooooooooo excited right now. i remember one of my friends jumping up and down for hours on nyc streets when she heard that she got in after having waited for so long.
 
I am currently hunched over my phone trying to will it to ring.
