i read somewhere that there are some DPMs who are partners of ambulatory facilities.

Are there any podiatrists who own the whole ambulatory center or small hospital itself , something like where only Podiatry patients are seen and operated.

Like some people said hospitals often trouble DPMs or come under pressure of Orthos to not allow DPMs. I was just curious, can 2-4 DPMs come in sort of understanding and contribute to open their own Hospital. In that way, they are the bosses and they can decide on policies rather than taking their patients to another hospital. they could call an IM for systemic management or CRNA for anesthesia whenever they need any help.

Iam just asking, have i understood the concept correct.

there are podiatrists that own surgi centers. Anyone type of surgeon can operate in them, not just pods. they use anesthesiologists just like any other surgi center.

after you start rotating thru the hospitals and surgi centers you will understand more how everything works.

you cannot know everything before school even starts.

yes DPMs own surgery centers and they get the staffed by nurses and anesthesia. They have great equipment and do very well. But you just can't get together with a couple of DPMs or MDs and start one up. Some states have now limited how many more centers can be built and also some states don't allow MDs and DPMs to be partners together.
Hope this helps. If you are still in school or in residency, wait another 5-10 years until you have enough cases.
