Applied to: UW, UPS, EWU, NAU, CU anschutz, & Wash U

Accepted at: UPS, EWU, NAU, CU anschutz, & Wash U (have not heard back from UW yet)

Attending: CU anschutz!

I'm a non-traditional student, changing careers as part of my mid-life crisis. Wish me luck!

University: Florida State University

Major: Music

Overall GPA: 3.67 (includes my graduate work getting a JD); undergraduate GPA is 3.80 (law school was a mistake!)

Pre-Req GPA: 4.0

LORs: 1 PT, 1 Prof, 1 supervisor

GRE: 322 (Q - 157; V - 165); AWA - 4.5

Work: practiced law full-time for more than 10 years. During that time, I had various side hustles when time permitted, mostly teaching piano lessons and group fitness classes (Pilates and indoor cycling) a couple times a week.

Observation Hours: ~45 outpatient. I started doing observations around February-March 2020, so I was not able to do much before COVID-19 lockdowns set in.

Volunteer experience: mentoring and childcare through church; tutoring at a local elementary school.

Applications: Georgia State University; Emory University; Mercer University; University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Waitlisted: n/a

Rejections: University of Alabama at Birmingham (I had not finished enough pre-reqs).

Interviews: Georgia State (10/2020); Mercer University (11/15/2020 - declined); Emory University (1/8/2021)

Acceptances: Georgia State University (10/26/2020); Emory University (2/3/2021).

I'm starting at Georgia State in June! I'm very pleased with the Emory acceptance, but at this point in my life, I can't justify paying their tuition.

I do not! I would check out last year’s UW DPT thread. I will be turning down my waitlist position, so hopefully it helps you and anyone else hoping to get it.

Do you have any idea what the chances are of getting off the waitlist? I feel like they waitlist most applicants
I know several students in the past few years who got off the waitlist. I would be hopeful but it could also take a while. I know someone who got in like a few weeks before school started. Good luck!
