I just got a drew/ucla interview. Has anyone already been to this one? what is it like? what did you think of the program? is it at UCLA or drew? both? did they mention how drew's troubles might affect med students?

you are probalby in the first group. I was at the first group interviewing last year and it was mid december. They interview a large group at once, there were probably 30 or so students in my group. They did address the king/drew problems somewhat. I was eventually accepted but declined because of various reasons. If you have a passion for working with underserved populations, drew/ucla is hard to beat.

anyone know the number of applicants, secondaries, interviews, & acceptances for the drew/ucla program?

in previous years,

1600 apps, 800 secondaries, 200 interviews, 50 acceptances to fill a class of 24

is it 50 acceptances or does that include those waitlisted as well?

thanks exmike!!!

A total of 50 acceptances. Hey do you have your interview date scheduled yet?

Must be nice! I'm still waiting for them to review M's and N's for a possible secondary. Ay ay ay!

CONGRATS and good luck!

yes, scheduled for the end of jan because I will be back in CA then. I think they have earlier interviews. it's very disorganized, you e mail the admissions coor w/dates when you will/won't be avail and then she sends you a letter. however, you cannot just talk to her on the phone and pick a date together. in the end I got the date i wanted though, so maybe it's just a formality. good luck!

For sure, I scheduled mine for the middle of January. Same deal, I emailed dates that I would not be available. Actually scheduling this way was kind of nice. You are guaranteed not to have an interview on a day which you may have a final or something. I don't think that it is disorganized just because you get to be actively involved in schedulling an email.
