I designated Drexel through AMCAS on 9/21 and have not heard a thing since then. I have called them twice now. They claim to have a record of my app and say I should be receiving a secondary at some point, but they're not sure when. They're always slightly confused when I ask them what's up, too. They look me up and say, "oh, your file isn't complete yet," and I say, "yeah, that's because you haven't asked me to do a secondary," and then they're like "huh... I wonder what's going on with that..." Is anyone else having a similar problem? As far as AMCAS tells me, Drexel hasn't even downloaded my electronic record from them yet. I just want the secondary.

I don't think that Drexel ever downloads the info from AMCAS- similar to how Tufts doesn't use the AMCAS data but has you fill out your GPA and MCATs on their secondary application. I have already interviewed at Drexel and they still haven't downloaded my AMCAS info. Good luck with your application!!!

Hope this helps:

(An e-mail from the AAMC after I contacted them about Drexel not downloading my app).

Dear Applicant,

If, on your 2004 AMCAS application, you designated one or more of the following medical schools:

*Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University
*Loyola University of Chicago
*University of Missouri-Columbia
*Medical University of South Carolina
*Tufts University
*Drexel University

These schools have opted to receive only paper applications (shipped by
AMCAS) and application files made available electronically (via FTP),
but not to receive applications electronically via the AAMC Data
Transmission Utility (DTU).

***As a result, no "transmission date" on either your dynamic welcome
page or your printed application will be listed for these schools. Do
not be concerned; once your application completes processing, your
application will be made available to these schools.

To check the status of your application, consult your application's
dynamic Welcome page, write to AMCAS at [email protected], or call us at
(202) 828-0600.

Best wishes throughout the 2004 medical school admissions process.

Sincerely,

AMCAS

Thanks, it makes more sense now. I still think the people they have answering their phones are kinda uninformed though. I'll just keep checking my snail-mailbox.

I go to Drexel. It has its good points. The clerical staff is not one of them. "Uninformed" is putting it nicely.

i finally got the postcard from drexel saying that my app is complete...it took close to two months...guess you just gotta be patient=)
