2025-2026 Drexel

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
so could i talk about how covid delayed my clinical exposure? or is it for more serious stuff
Like actual serious stuff. Complaining about 'bad grades' (unless they are actually bad like a C or below) or a delay in experiences I think would be an inappropriate use of this section. It would seem more like complaining rather than describing actual circumstances. (In my opinion)

thank you!

question, if my mcat is very similar to their median mcat, would it be unwise to talk about how a situation in my life caused me to have a "lower" score for q2?
Is 511 low..?

okay so im trying to complete my application, but when I copy and paste my secondary onto the website and try to save, it tells me that the page hasn't been completed? all of the essays have words in the boxes. has anyone else had this issue?

This could mean you have gone over the word count or character count. You're going to want to check each essay question!

Drexels website: "It can take up to four weeks after AMCAS verification to receive Drexel's link to the secondary application. Please contact us if you feel that the link to your secondary application has not reached you in a timely manner."

So I would contact them if it has been longer.

Average of accepted students is 512, which is a better statistic to use when judging successful applications.

Average for accepted students is around 505. The number you are referring to (511.8) is for MD schools only (and even MD averages widely vary by state, with some state averages from 506-509).

We are in the MD school forum which is why I used that stat, obviously
You didn't say accepted MD students.

@notEinstein was more specific and correct.

I'm entertained lmao. SDN pointless arguments are hilarious

Guys, guys, does it really matter?

It matters because of the implicit and explicit bias against DO’s and them being considered “real medical students”. It’s a dangerous pattern of thought that denigrates one group and should be called out until it stops.

Matriculated students include DO’s unless one specifically states that they are sub classifying to MD metrics only.

I feel like I’m reading a psych/soc passage again. Can’t we all just be happy together

This is an MD forum, for MD schools and is for a specific MD school. Why would I mention DO stats for MD?
No one here is putting down DOs but you at this point. Get that chip off your shoulder and move on.

This Drexel thread has gotten way off topic with a bunch of immature and petty arguing.
You will need friends and allies if you make it as far as medical school, so get used to getting along and not tearing each other down.
If you want to keep posting here keep it civil.

SDN arguments over not including DO stats in an average
Edit: they’re all dumb and pointless, obviously

Hi everyone. I just added Drexel to AMCAS yesterday. How long does it take to receive a secondary? Thank you!

I believe anywhere up to 14 days. I received mine in one business day. Best of luck, friend!

"Please note that it can take up to two weeks for you to receive your Drexel secondary application after your primary application has been verified by AMCAS." is what I see on the website. Could you point me to where it says four weeks?

Gotcha, ok. Two different things it seems. Might have to email or call them bc I feel like over two weeks is a little hard. People have been submitting for 4 weeks, and now I am two weeks behind bc of what seems to be a glitch. I don't want to be paranoid, but I just want to submit it lol - I've had it written for a month.

+1 OOS Secondary, received 8/11. Verified primary 7/29

Is there any specific reason why Drexel only has one required essay with only 1500 characters allowed?
