Hey guys
I have my interview at Drexel next week. I was wondering if those of you who have already had an interview there would be willing to share the whole schedule for the day from the time you get there till the time you leave. Also, are all of their student interviews during lunch? So while everyone is sitting in the same room, they are all giving interviews? Isn't that a little awkward??
I would appreciate all your responses!! 🙂

Hi there,
I'm a big fan of the Drexel interview day.. the schedule is ROUGHLY as follows:

I think we're supposed to get there at 9am
1) Presentation from Dr. Hanau (sp?), one of the Deans of Admissions
2) Student Tour
3) Downtime/Faculty Interview
4) Student Interview at lunch. Not everyone's in there at once because people have their faculty interviews at different times, and the students don't all come at once to pick people up. But yes, you will see a couple of other interviewees in the dining hall. And no, you shouldn't feel too awkward or uncomfortable because it's just a laid back student interview!
5) I think after this it's approx 1:30 or so.. You can then either leave or you can stay and wait for the PIL presentation from Dr. Somebody who heads the PIL program. It's completely optional.

Good luck! It's a really fun interview day.

Robizzle's got it down ---👍

There is a lot of downtime - good chance to get to know the other interviewees.
A lot of time is spent in the conference room in the admissions office. There is no set meeting spot or time for the student interviewer, they just come in and grab you for lunch. For the faculty interview, there are set times - most of us just waited to be called by our interviewer, a few had to go to an office to meet their interviewer.

Ok thanks a lot guys!! one other question, I know that the faculty interview is open-file; is the student interview closed-file?

yes and yes. and the student interview is not really a typical "interview"...mine was more casual conversation.

Student interview is closed file. My day was actually really annoying, they scheduled my interview at the hospital which is downtown (you have to take a 25 minute shuttle) at the same time as the tour. When I got there, I had an interviewer who I couldn't understand. My student interviewer on the other hand was great, I don't think they have much say though. Hopefully your day goes better.

There's definitely a lot of downtime. Most people end up talking to each other or go hang out in the student's lounge, go to cluster, check email. etc...
