Drexel Rejection part 01

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I just called them. "A decision has been made!!!!!" woot! yeeeee-haw!

They said they'll mail them out Monday and I should DEFINITELY receive a letter next week. So daily posting of "no mail today" starts next Tuesday evening for me! 😀 😀 👍 👍 😍 😛

know what i just realized? i may be at my GW interview when i get my decision....WEIRD (good thing i have a cell phone 🙂 ) :scared:

Why do you guys like Drexel so much.?
When I interviewed their, I knew before I even entered the building that I just didn't like the area. Are there any of you the same way, but other factors override the location of the school.? 😕

I interviewed last week.. I gotta say, I was pretty impressed with the school. The location isn't bad at all, it's actually pretty nice! Down the street from the school (towards the train tracks) it gets a little iffy, but no big deal. I could definitely spend 4 years here! Oh... and the residency placement is NICE! I was looking at it after my interview.. They said that all the people that wanted to go back to CA got to go back.. and to competitive residency programs too! Anyways, I'm stoked about an acceptance. Plus my friend lives right down the street from the school.. Here's to a Drexel acceptance!
 
i liked the area...i mean it wasn't paradise, but it's a major city, i was expecting much worse...i thought this was a good location for the city

i really haven't weighed any factors of any of the schools i have applied to, but i would also be happy to go to any of those schools....so, no, i didn't need any factors to override the location since i don't mind it (i'd personally feel more afraid for my car than myself).

Oh, i think you should hear from Drexel before Friday though. If they send them out on Monday, they will probably be in our mailboxes by Wednesday. argh. :scared: :scared:

but isn't this what everyone else was going through, that they were being told their letter was mailed out, but they wouldn't get it for 2 or 3 weeks?

mail is a pain in the ass though guys. chicagomed sent me a letter 15 days ago and i have yet to receive it. FIFTEEN DAYS. a bit ridiculous don't you think? i'm just telling you this so you guys don't go crazy if you don't hear when you think you will. either way, i hope you both get in. this whole thing seems like its been a roller coaster ride for the two of you. best of luck.

i'm wouldn't be surprised if i didn't get anything next week, but i would definitely call in case they think it was lost and would maybe tell me....? and i'd still go crazy even if they told me it would take 3 weeks 🙄 :scared:

i got news from Dr. Hanau. She emailed me back (finally 🙂 ) and told me that i should be hearing good news from Drexel this week!!!! Now I dont want to jinx anything (since I dont have an acceptance in hand), but I think I may be in. 😀

BEST NEWS I'VE HEARD ALL WEEK!!(yeah i know it's only monday.)
 
I have not heard anything from Drexel, but, I received something about there medical science programs (Masters Degrees). Is this an indication that I have been rejected, but not received the letter of rejection yet?

I just got this e-mail from Drexel:

"Your application to Drexel University College of Medicine for the 2006 entering class is complete and has been reviewed by a member of the admissions committee. Your application is currently on hold, and will be reviewed again later this year for a possible interview. Should you be selected for an interview, you will receive notification via regular mail."

I was wondering if anyone else received this e-mail.
 
got that too... it had been so long since i'd been complete that i wasn't really expecting to hear anything from them... ever!
 
I got the same message. I'm just wondering what it will actually translate into.
 
Did any of you people that were placed on hold receive information about the Drexel MMS/IMS etc. programs? I received information in the mail, but I have not received an invitation to interview, nor have I been rejected. Perhaps, my rejection was lost in the mail? Perhaps, they send everyone information about their medical science programs? Any help will be wonderfully appreciated. Thanks

i am also saving my happiness for you til later....i just have a big grin 😀 like that, maybe bigger....but the yay's and stuff will come when you're sure! as for me....i had a dream.....it included the words..."big envelope" (why does envelope look like it's spelled wrong to me?) and "drexel".....but i guess an email from the dean is more promising than a dream 🙄

I interviewed at Drexel a little over a month ago. My interviewer told me it would take 2-3 weeks to get my application to the admissions committee.

How long has it been taking everyone to hear from them after interviews? The waiting is killing me, i've had 5 Drexel related dreams since my interview.

lol 2-3 weeks....this is either week 10 or 11 for myself and bepony....but others have heard a little earlier...idk about that fast though
 
congrats, ms. bepony! that's awesome news, and you deserve it for all your patience and dedication.

i just received an interview invitation from drexel all of two days after getting my complete postcard and 2+ months after being complete. very weird.

perhaps complaining is the best strategy for interview invites? it works for small children, right? 🙂

I'm all about the temper tantrum and throwing things and biting people. But I usually only do that when I'm grumpy because I don't get my afternoon juicebox and nap.

All I got from Drexel was some stupid info about, and an application to, their post-bacc. programs?

Does a 3.7 BCPM really call for that?

oh, they're booked until april -- i'm scheduled for april 6. i guess i'll call in about a month and see if i can bump it up some.

april!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow, i hope you can find an earlier date! call every day asking if anyone has cancelled 🙂

in other news: no mail from Drexel, meaning they don't overnight their letters! now it's time to go into 2-3 day mode. at least my undergrad gave me a nice check today for money i still had at school in my fin aid package....nice! imagine that, a school paying me...that may be the last time i ever say that

Yup, just got that today. Gee, that is the what, third hold I've had so far? And all from the schools on the east coast! I think I'm being blacklisted over there! 🙁
 
i inquired about my status and it seems like my app still hasn't gotten reviewed yet. getting closer to the 8 week mark, post-interview. i guess i can't complain though since a certain few people on here have been waiting a lot longer! by the way, congrats, bepony! i, too, really hope that your "good news" = "acceptance."

don't frown, beponychick, i just KNOW it's an acceptance!! it has to be, especially after what the dean's email said. 👍

just make sure you have chilled champagne ready.

i dont like how this thread is called "drexel rejection". has nobody else noticed how awful of a title that is for a thread.
