Drexel Rejection part 01

So I emailed Drexel to find out my status since I have been complete since august and havent heard anything . They said I have been reviewed and a decision has been mailed. Letters are going out this week. I always thought Drexel didnt reject until the spring, is this correct? Anyone know from application process last year. I tried the search on this website but its worthless , couldnt find the rejection thread from last year. I hope its an interview invite but a "decision has been mailed" doesnt sound too promising.

It's probably an interview invitation -- mine was sent via regular mail.

yes Bobo, i also think its an interview invite. I remember getting a rejection two years ago sometime in the spring. they keep your file open until the very end. So i think its good news!! So here is a pre-mature Congrats! 🙂

drexel sends invites via snail mail in small envelopes. in past years, i'm pretty sure drexel has waited until spring to send out rejections. so, i'd be hopeful if i were you, bobodr. i just interviewed there and i found it to be a great place. best of luck.

do they send you a complete letter first? or just straight up interview. drexels one of 2 schoos (out of 30) that hasn't told me i'm complete.

I never got a complete postcard... just a letter to interview. Be careful of the envelope though, the invitation to interview is quite thin, single piece of paper. So don't freak out.

I haven't heard anything from Drexel either, complete since late August. I figure I'm on the "reject-o-rama" roll with most places since I haven't heard squat from all but one of the schools I applied to. Oh, two places now - MCW rejection (today). I'm sure the MCW letter won't be lonely for long. But I sure hope I'm wrong...

I called the office today and they told me that letters had been sent out already and someone else on SDN said that the secretary told her they woudl send out letters on Tuesday. I hope we all get good news tomorrow (interview invites or acceptances)!

I'm not 100% sure that letters were mailed out yesterday, only 98% sure 😛
When I went to the admissions office on Monday and asked when their first decisions would go out, the woman said "we're probably mailing them tomorrow." It was late afternoon, so I'm assuming they were ready and waiting to go out 🙂 Oh, and these are decisions for people who have been interviewed, but I'm not sure what date they're up to in committee.

nope, nothing in the mail today for me...and I'm in Philadelphia, actually really close to the school. Not that that matters with modern mail 😛

(I'm at work, and my husband is home studying for a test tomorrow. I told him to call me as soon as the mail came, whether there was anything for me or not 😛)

I hate to say it but your most likely rejected. If you dont hear back within 24 hours of when any school gets the Aug Mcat scores, well I am sorry to say they have already decided to reject you.











In seriousness, they are not going to drop everything and review your file. They have 1000's of people complete before you from earlier mcats and will be looking at them first. You may not even hear until next year. Good luck. 🙂

hah, no, I haven't heard from them yet. We'll probably get letters in the next few days. That's assuming they caught up to my interview day (9/30) in committee. They had 2 committee meetings between then and Tuesday, so they may have or may not have. I'm trying not to hold my breath 😛

Thanks though. I'm actually considering withdrawing from Temple, but I haven't decided. Will that help you? 😛 They haven't even given me an interview yet so it's not like I'd be giving up an interview slot. But in any case I'm being advised not to withdraw from anywhere yet, and just wait and see how things go.

Since I didn't get anything, I'd suspect nobody has yet, since I live about as close to the school as anybody 😛 But yeah, they sent the letters out Tuesday, supposedly. Mail can be weird, though, so we'll see who hears when. Also, they may not have gotten to review my application in committee yet, so maybe my letter (acceptance? hope so!!!; maybe not) wasn't sent yet.

Does anyone understand why they can't tell us the decision over the phone? I have two interviews next Mon and Wed. and I'd rather not go because it's going to cost a lot to get there--plane, hotel. This stinks.

probably acceptances and waitlists? not sure though...somebody said they don't reject until later on, spring maybe, but not sure if that's pre- or post-interview

Well I haven't checked my mail yet, but nobody has posted Drexel on the Halls of Fame or Shame (or Lame) yet, so maybe they haven't come. If that's the case, I doubt they actually mailed them Tuesday, unless it was late Tuesday night. Seriously, how long does it take for mail to get somewhere within the same city?

They have gotten back to me really fast (1 day) both times I sent an email but thats not the norm from what I can tell, some people dont even get responded too so I am not sure. I would give it until next Wed though, that being said I am calling on Tuesday if I havent received my promised letter yet. Funny how I may just be begging for my rejection letter (although hoping its an interview)....

I just emailed them today, too. I guess they're not so prompt in getting back with people.

As for the mail issue, I'm thinking stuff didn't mail 10/18 because you'd probably have it already. I just received something from UMDNJ-SOM, which is in a Philly suburb, yesterday, and it was postmarked 10/18. I'm in Oregon, so if stuff from Philly is reaching me in two days, I'm thinking it should reach everybody else sooner.

uh...they got all my stuff by sept. 14, i'm assuming i was complete a couple weeks later (i never got this mythical postcard you guys speak of)
