Drexel v. Wake Forest

Pleeeeezzzeee help!!!

Can't decide between Drexel and Wake Forest. Seems that Wake Forest is better respected academically (ranked 39 according to US News) than Drexel. I'm a little worried though that I won't get a very diverse (culturally, socioeconomically)medical experience in Winstom Salem NC.

Does anyone know how much "better" of a school Wake Forest is than Drexel? (I couldn't find an online match list for wake forest) Or perhaps you know about quality of life/medical experiences in NC in general?? Any advice/info is greatly greatly greatly appreciated 😀 !

Wake Forest does have a better reputation than Drexel, but whether this will make much of a difference in obtaining a good residency is questionable. I have heard that the only way that your school will make a significant difference in obtaining a good residency is if you are attending a top 10 school. In other words, given that you perform well at either school, you will almost surely be granted a good match for residency. It's really more of a personal choice and where you feel you would be most comfortable.

I would go with Wake. It's the better school. It has the better reputation. And it will continue to climb in the rankings. On the other hand, I never hear much about Drexel. But do what makes you happy.

I would not make the decision based on a school's reputation. Just go where you think you will be happiest. You've got to spend 4 years there so don't worry so much about reputation. That being said, I love Wake.
