Drexel vs CCOM

I’ve been accepted to CCOM but recently had an interview at Drexel, and they are my only two interviews. So this post is anticipatory for if I have to make a decision later on.

CCOM

Pros

- very close to friends and family (30 mins)
- very good rotations around Chicago area
- one of original 5 DO schools
- everyone I met and talked to seemed very happy at the school
- great match list

Cons

- extremely expensive
- DO
- graded preclinicals


Drexel

Pros

- brand new main campus opening up in the fall
- cheaper
- p/f pre clinical
- association with Reading Hospital
- MD school

Cons

- far from family
- haven’t actually been accepted yet
- school is spread out over multiple campuses
- like Chicago more than Philly
- rotations are pretty spread out and allocated via lottery system

Drexel, MD plus the financial package. It is a pretty well established school.
