  1. Pre-Veterinary
at an equine practice in hopes to do some volunteer work there. Since I havent heard anything yet, I went to call today, but I didnt know for sure the Doc's name, so I googled the clinic, and I found his name alright!
Dr. Ross Hugi
Apparently he was involved in a scam involving a ring of criminals involving insurance scams over horses and ultimately the death of the heiress to the Brach candy fortune.

I'll tell ya what, I am running now FAST! Nothing like the horse mafia! Welcome to Chicago! Too bad too, because his practice is only like 10 min from my house.

Now that's just downright sickening. 😡 This guy is still in practice and people go to him???

Oh wow, I thought I recognized that name! He's one of the "horse-killers," I had no idea he was still practicing...especially since all of the trainers involved were booted out of USEF.

i had no idea the killers of the Brach stories were still in work either! yikes!

That is unreal... You're sure it's the same guy? (though, with a name like that I'm sure its gotta be)

same part of the country, same field, and upon google searching, I see a lot of horse owners actually do use him. I dont know how on earth he can still practice, especially in the same place he has always practiced. I guess some of the dead horses are buried on his property! Its such a bizzare story...one that I hadnt heard before. I had a friend in college who's grandfather was into harness racing, and she talked about the horse mafia. I thought she was full of **** (she was in most things she talked about), but apparently its the real deal, and I was on the property of the key witness for federal prosecution in a murder and a known participant in the killing of horses for insurance fraud! Crazy crazy world.

WOW! I have no idea how he did not get his licence revoked. My advice is to run far and fast. Don't want to end up being an accessory to a crime 😉

Of course, now that you've gone and outed him on a public forum... What if somebody in the "horse mafia" reads this board? You can assume they have your real name, address, phone number (because really, how many resumes do you think his clinic received on Monday?)... Better check your bed for severed horse heads. :scared:

😀

I'm assuming he escaped that fate because he was instrumental in putting Richard Bailey in prison...although I think he at least got probation and had to make restitution. I wonder if his clients are unaware, or if they're just very forgiving?

If his prices are cheap enough, some clients might not care...
