I could care less whether or not my future wife is in the medical field or not, and as a matter of fact i find myself to generally be interested in arts majors. I figure whatever happens, happens. Btw, I do treat my significant others like princesses 😉 Oh yah I cook too =P lol

actually, the birth rate is typically lower for the upper class than the lower class.
Yes, this is true as well. But to argue on the same lines, I would say that it is easier to have/support many offspring when you have $$$. Not that we procreate just because we can- that would be ... not such a good idea.

Hmmm, if I marry another doc, we could each work half time and still make a full doctor's salary....could be nice...

😀

I know, that's what I was thinking too! Unfortunately, I don't think many guys in medical school would share my mentality.

Hmmmm... That may just be one of the greatest ideas ever.

My math is a bit different . . . I figured we could work full time (not crazy hours, but solid full days) and make 2x a dr's salary . . .

How about this...I'll become a dermatologist and marry a dermatologist. He can work 9-12:30 and I'll work 1:30-5 (or vice versa). We'll share a practice and bring home 400k a year...Sounds like a plan!!!

My boyfriend used to be a programmer, is now a political writer, and will probably go to law school in the next few years. He's fascinatingly smart and nerdy, so I'm happy.

I'd rather not marry someone else in the medical field, because I like coming home to something that's different from what I do all day. I call myself well-rounded; you might call it flaky; whatever, I can't concentrate on one thing all the time and I'd have a hard time making dinner conversation about work if both our jobs were similar.

My fiance and I are both applying to medical school right now, we may or may not end up at the same school, but will definitely be in the same city. We plan on getting married the summer after M1. We didn't meet until after I was finished with my undergrad and we aren't competitive people so it works well. I'm glad we are going through this together, it makes it so much better.

Wish you all the luck! My fiance and I are applying together as well. I definitely think that being with someone who is going through the same thing is a relief to me. We've gone through pre-reqs together, healthy competition and cooperation goes a long way when you have your SO best interest in mind. We push each other to go the extra mile.

Done. Don't suppose you have any interest in UConn or USC? 😉

Hmmm I applied to Yale and Duke. Are those close enough? I think we could make it work.... 😍

I would marry a teacher. In fact, for no concrete reason, i say all Docs should marry teachers. Some nurses i know, say I should marry a lawyer but I say GO TEACHERS.
Performing artist rock too.

I find it funny that I am looking for someone who will challenge my intellegence, yet won't make me feel stupid (I make my fair share of mistakes)

i don't think it's funny at all. you want what you want. my friends think it's funny i say that i wanna hook up with guys who are smarter than me, because it's oh-my-gosh-raining-on-the-feminist-parade. but it makes sense for me.

I don't know why but I have a weak spot for the engineers. Can't explain it. Nerdy naughty feel to it.
