That is debatable. At my brown interview my interviewer asked, whats the deal with your MCAT? Well, not worth stressin over i guess.

I know I haven't been rejected yet, but I've definitely lost a huge chunk of any confidence I had last week. Good luck to you! Someone has to bring those 38+ scores down to Duke's 35-36 average...might as well be us.![]()

kirexhana said:i think the batchs are kinda mixed. I know someone in cali that got rejected yesterday, which means they sent out rejections Wednesday? maybe that means they sent out acceptances on friday too? still hopeful here. 🙂

ChocolateKiss said:So last year, Duke sent out an email to all admitted students about 2nd look weekend 3 days after sending the acceptances. Some people hadn't gotten their letters in the mail yet and found out that way (ie, if they got the email they were in, if not they weren't).
3 work days after the mailing date is Monday. I wonder if they'll send out an email tomorrow to all admitted students...
Here's to hoping we all wake up to a 2nd look email in our in boxes from Duke!!![]()

We shouldn't be asking for region but, last name! 😉
Good things come to those who wait. 🙂 😍SuzieQ also has great stats; what a joke that she was rejected.potato51 said:SuzieQ...... best rejection post ever
OHare said:Waitlisted today in Chicago. Dammit, now the rest of the year counts! Is anybody going to call to find out their relative place on the list? (Even though it says not to.)
Interesting observation...so if you're thinking of declining your admission, let us know your stats!diosa428 said:It actually seems that the general consensus last year was that Duke creates their class in a particular way and they will take you off the waitlist if you fit they "type" that they are lacking, if that makes sense. Basically if a 22yr old white male with 2 years of research experience and a varsity lacrosse player withdraws, they will try to fill that place with someone similar. Not sure if it's THAT specific, but that's the idea I think.

And my rejection letter had a typo! (not that I'm bitter or anything 😉 )

ChocolateKiss said:No news yet in California...still holding up hope though as my mail goes to a PO Box, and the post office can be really slow...
Any acceptances today?
kirexhana said:nope, no big envelope, no little envelope. it's ok, im' still riding high on my first acceptance. WHEE! 😀
diosa428 said:Hey, for those of you who haven't gotten anything yet, do your last names start w/a letter from the beginning or end of the alphabet? I'm at the end, so I was wondering if they sent those rejections/waitlists out on Friday, and the beginning of the alphabet on Thurs. Just curious.
Don't feel sorry for me...I've got two acceptances from other universities, so I'm doing alright. Duke would have been great, but Durham would have sucked. I'm glad my dog could bring you pleasure...she destroyed that frisbee in a record 20 minutes. It made me proud.bamf7 said:Sorry Suzie. Your post made me laugh so hard that Cadbury Cream Egg went up my nose.

kirexhana said:near the beginning. i didn't know you guys were serious about using the alphabet to deduce mailing dates.... 😳
diosa428 said:There has to be some method to the madness! I WILL FIND IT!
Unless it turns out that they think everyone they interviewed would be a good candidate, and just picked names out of a hat while they were drunk.

I just hate hearing people bemoan their circumstances when there are qualified applicants out there w/o any acceptances. I am truly sorry if Duke was your dream school, I know what thats like. Peace and hair grease 👍
