I look forward to hearing lots of good news🙂OMG!!! You know where Lubbock is! Who are you???
As for Duke letters, if I worked in an office and had dozens and dozens of letters to send out but couldn't send them all out on the same day because there were just too many of them, I would think the most reasonable way to send them out is in alphabetical order. Right? That is, of course, assuming that all/most of the decisions have been made, but it sounds like that is the case, right?
Anyone know if they have 2 or 3 (or more) batches of acceptance letters to send? (In other words, how long is this torture going to stretch out...?)
That assumes that somehow it was all organized in alphabetical order to begin with. Maybe they did something complex that involved basketball seeds of peoples' universities? Maybe that's part of the 5 points?
Speaking of which, did anyone catch that elbow to hanborough's face?
doesn't your credit score go down when you check it? so i guess it would be more like, check your score and get docked a point😱
yeah, I saw that. Although it was an ugly hit, i don't think it was intentional. At least Henderson will be back for the NCAA's
Hey Everyone! My boyfriend is hiking the AT and is gone for 5 mos.... He ahs left me in charge of everything... Except he forgot to leave me the duke PAS login... Does anyone know if that is the AMCAS ID?? I spoke with someone in the DUKE MED OFFICE AND HE SAID ALL ACCEPTANCES WERE MAILED THIS WEEKEND, BUT WE COULD CHECK STATUS ONLINE.... ANY HELP WOULD ROCK!!
Could they have sent them ALL out on Friday even when they were still having interviews??
I know everyone is probably feeling the same pain, but my mail does not come until like 6:00pm every day so it is going to be a looooooong monday...no official class of Duke 2011 thread yet? you two acceptees are slacking
Of course I know Lubbock. "Happiness is Lubbock, Texas in the rear-view mirror." Best "f-- you, hometown!" line ever written!

You know I just had a crazy idea. Why doesn't someone call the admissions office and talk to Erin and be like, "Erin, I know that Duke is not giving out official acceptances or information over the phone, but is it possible to get unofficial information over the phone. For example, you can tell me if I am in, have been waitlisted, or rejected, and I know it is unofficial. You could be lying, but why would you lie to me right? Either way, you are not responsible since it is unofficial, and I will be calmed to know what is coming in the mail for me."
PS: I'm the kid that can't wait till Christmas morning for gifts.

Why not just act like you're accepted and be like: "do you know what the status of my financial aid is, I just got my letter this morning, and I wasn't sure if you all forgot to put it in there or what?"
If they give you the info then you're in, if they're like uh you're not accepted yet, then you know WL or R.
If they call you on it then just say you went acceptance...for interview...and that your mom just sent you an mail/paper copy.
The acceptance is sent in a large manila envelop and, as was stated before, is addressed " (the future) Dr. so and so...To you lucky accepted people (congrats!) and...what are the details on the envelope? Big, small? Addressed funny? (Someone said last year the envelopes were addressed to "the future dr...."😉

Hmmm... since we're toying with the technicalities of their no-official-info-over-the-phone policy - I wonder if they'd give official information in person? I'd theoretically drop by the admissions office with a list of duke thread allstars names to get the early info if I could!

Inside the envelop you will find your acceptance letter, an instruction sheet, payment policy for international students, a statement of intent which you will have to return to keep your spot in the class, and a memo for people with physical and or learning disabilities on how to inform the school of their disability so that Duke can accommodate it.
Hope this helps and good luck to you all!

Ya, agreed. Tape pieces of white paper over your name and then take pics and post them. We need to know what we should be dreaming about 😀
Photoshop, 10 seconds max, blur tool

All I Know Is That The Man Who Answered The Phone At The Duke Med. Office Said All Acceptances Were Mailed Out This Weekend... That Could Mean Sat Or Sun Or Today... I Suppose THEY COULD CONSIDER TODAY MAILING OUT ON THE WEEKEND.... I Am Going To Duke Pa School In The Fall And Wish I Could Pull Some Strings For My Boyfriend, But They Won't Tell Anything, Hahaha!
THANKS FOR EVERYONE"S HELP- Heather 🙂
So if sent out on Sat:
East Coast:Mon
Midwest: Tues
West: Wed
Is it too late to send LOI, maybe a waitlist can be recalled like that guys interview invite after being sent?
any particular reason you like to capitalize every single word? who's with me here? strange, right?
It's possible... The late interviews could be lower priority/waitlist students. I would imagine that the acceptances come out faster than the rejections/waitlist letters.
new addition to the status page
"Please do not contact the Office of Admissions
with questions regarding decisions. If you call or email our office,
we will not provide you with information regarding
any decision made by the Admission Committee."
Guess we shouldn't keep bugging them.
