gotcha...i went and changed my PAS address maybe a week or two ago, so hopefully it will come to my current address.

Agreed! I'm reading a book for lit class, and I'm not getting very far at all! I'm going to be sooo antsy until I hear something. I'm really excited for everyone who's gotten in so far, but at the same time, I'm bummed that I have to keep on waiting. I hope I'll know something by Friday...

My US mail comes roughly 14 days late! I just received a letter dated Feb. 15 from Jefferson (interview invite) - lucky they also sent an e-mail because I'm in Philly RIGHT NOW (interview is tomorrow!)!

yea. haven't heard of anyone either, kinda weird altho i don't really know that many premeds
 
I know two duke undergrads who have gotten in.

They are both MD. However, their permanent addresses are in Raleigh and Virginia, so they are relatively close to Durham.

i'm about to leave on a field trip for art history. i won't be back until later this evening. hopefully the museum of modern art will keep my mind off duke and these boards....yeah right.

Still nothing in Wisconsin. Our mail is slow, so I'm not expecting anything until next week.
 
Nothing in Maryland, though I just switched my address on the Duke website on Monday. If I get any news, it'll probably be sent to my CA permanent address on the other side of the country :scared:

It's official. Whoever did not get a manila envelope on March 5th (latest by the 6th) is either waitlisted or rejected. There's no need to hope for the big letter. If you have not heard anything yet, it means that a thin envelope is coming for you. I'm sorry for those who did not get anything yet, but this is the truth.
And when I say it's official, you don't need to question me. It is.

But who knows, there can be exceptions, I guess.

i refuse to believe that. as far as i know, no duke undergrad has received acceptance letters/anything at all, and usually duke will extend about ~30 acceptances to their own applicants.

stoppushinit, the poster Meeher above said he/she knows 2 duke kids who got in, so i'm starting to lose hope since my mail was empty today too. this def sucks :-(

this is crazy. i still don't think it's over. many (probably more than half my friends) are applicants...many who are amazingly well-qualified (40+ MCATs and 3.8+ GPAs, and involved around campus)...Of ~150 applicants from Duke alone, one of them has to have gotten in...

sorry guys! i lied. i just asked some of those friends, and just from our 2 minute conversation, i found out 2 were accepted (prob more)...letters were mailed to their permanent addresses.
okay time to be ---> :scared:
 
why would you crush my soul like that? honestly, why? I was keeping the faith.
 
Okay, so I JUST called Duke a few seconds ago and was fortunate to speak to the nice office administrator--I forgot his name. Anyway, he was nice enough to explain that NOT ALL ACCEPTANCES have been sent out. So you're wrong buddy--there is still hope! We're probably dealing with a very bitter person. So for everyone who is still awaiting, according to the Duke's administrator they "are still sending letters of all sorts out until tomorrow." Remember... relax!
 
Plan for the worst, and hope for the best, is what I always say...
 
Or we can be dealing with someone who is speaking the truth?! Patience... Plus, if we get a rejection letter, we can use it as an excuse to go get drunk! Most of us have already been accepted to good medical schools so in the end we will all be good physicians, right!? (Okay, trying to make myself feel better for a potential rejection letter!) 🙂

I hope that this is the truth. Otherwise, maybe he didn't have the heart to tell you that you're waitlisted/rejected.
 
At this point, I'd like to quote from one of my favorite movies from middle school:

"Darling, nothing is final 'til you're dead, and even then, I'm sure God negotiates."
 
Has anyone heard of any non-acceptance decisions yet? It seems like the first "wave" contained only acceptances. If this is true, then the chances of receiving a waitlist/rejection letter goes up for the rest of us... 🙁

i would be ready to give up hope except for the fact that i really feel like there would have been more acceptances on sdn than the amount there has been so far....pretty much the only day we heard of any acceptances was sat-monday- nothing tuesday/wednesday....
