Duquense Post-Bac Program

I'm new to the forum and I need some help. I am 33 years old and I am considering a formal post-bac program...at Duquense University because I live in Pittsburgh. Anyhow, I noticed that they want your SAT's scores with the application...and my SAT scores were pretty bad. I took the SAT back in 1995 and I scored around an 800/1600. I went onto graduate from college with over a 3.0 GPA and then obtained a master's degree (with a 4.0 for that).

How bad will my SAT scores from 1995 hurt my chances for admission? I'm getting nervous about this. It sucks that a test that I took 16 years ago is going to affect my life.

If anyone knows ANYTHING about this particular post-bac program...please give me the low-down. Several years ago, I tried to take the pre-med classes on my own at a local college and I found it extremely hard to do...the program wasn't structured and I had a hard time trying to get the classes that I need. I think a formal post-bac would be a good fit for someone like me.

If you fix the spelling and search on Duquesne, you'll find threads about the programs there. The GRE is mentioned as an alternative to the SAT. I suggest that if you contact the program and explain your situation, that might get you the best advice.

With any good postbac, you need to convince the program that you can thrive under a heavy courseload, and that you can do well on standardized exams. They won't likely care about your SAT if your GRE is strong. But be aware that your grad studies won't necessarily be weighed as heavily as your undergrad studies.

I have already searched this program...I was just looking for opinions from other people on this forum. And yes, I made a typo with the spelling--big deal--I was in a hurry.

As for the GRE...I have never taken it--so that's not going to help me out. So it looks like the SAT will be what they will be judging me on. And the school doesn't seem to like people calling them up to gauge what your chances are: "We are not able to tell you over the phone or in an email what your chances are of getting into the program, so please do not ask."

Have you looked into Robert Morris or Clarion? I think they have options for older students.
