Duration of MPH programs

Being an international applicant, I'm not familiar with the credit system in the U.S. I had the impression that MPH programs have a duration of 1 year with a little variation (like 9 months for Harvard). Yet, some schools mention things like -funding for the first year. Can someone please explain? How much time on an average does it take to complete an MPH degree?

Most MPH programs are two years.

Dartmouth's MPH program can be condensed into one year.
I know there are more out there, but I can't recall right now.

The beginning of the semester varies with each school, but I'm under the impression that Fall semester for most would be August/September. Some starts early in the Summer though, like Yale that you mentioned.

June. This is only for the AP MPH program. A program for students already possessing (or concurrently enrolled in) a MD, PhD, or other doctorate. The regular MPH begins in every September.

Right on. With the exception of accelerated programs for those already with an advanced degree (like Yale, Harvard, Hopkins, BU and a few other schools offering that option).

Dartmouth's MPH program can be condensed into one year.

BU is one program that can be (not recommended) squeezed into a full calendar year (overload of classes each term, fall, spring, summer). A few schools offer spring enrollment (BU is one of them), but this is not common.

Columbia is 1 and a half to 2 years. You should be able to find all this info on the websites for the schools you are interested in just fyi.
