Hi, so I'm applying to Ross University and as you know, they require LOR submission by mail. So I have talked to my DVM way back in February and he's a pretty good guy. So, he had already submitted the electronic LOR in VMCAS but somehow, his mail LOR never reach Ross. I have emailed him back and forth 4 times, forwarding him the email reply from Ross about how they never received such a LOR. Now, Im getting pretty frustrated and he is too. So, after promising me he mailed it a week ago, I emailed Ross to confirm. And once again, no such LOR. Anybody ever experienced this? He is my only DVM and I don't want to ask him a fifth time in fear of straining the relationship. I also tempted to go choke him and ask WTF is wrong with you? What should I do? Thank you.

I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time with that!! I personally have never had that problem (I didn't apply to Ross) so I can't say if others have that problem or not, but if you wanted to have them try to send it again you could send it in a large envelope with tracking (and potentially you might also be able to make it something that needs to be signed for? Not really sure). Of course, this will cost more and I'm sure you'd have to pony up the money for it, but this was you'd have a record of it getting there and could be like "okay guys, here's the tracking info from usps/ups or whatever. You have it. Why can't you find it?"

I hope you are able to figure this out soon!! Good luck!!!

That is odd that you need to have both an electronic one and a hard copy. I would suggest that you if you do need to send it again, perhaps send it certified mail so that it can be tracked with a receipt/tracking #.

Late to the party, but it can take several weeks to a month or more for mail to reach these islands. I was chatting with a friend about her experience at Ross and she brought up how she would get Christmas cards in February. This could be your problem.

I second the tracking # or sending it via Fedex or something.

I had this happen 3 times with Ross. My status in the portal said they had received both of my letters (academic and veterinarian), but then I got an email that they were missing them. I had my referees send them again, and they only said they received the veterinarian one. I then had my professor send it a third time and they never acknowledged receiving it. They were all sent by certified mail and were signed for at the New Jersey Ross office. I eventually gave up on Ross.
