A resident ordered an e-cad on the wrong case and she ordered it on a grade one bland ductal carcinoma (BRS score of 3). The external and internal controls were strongly positive but the ductal carcinoma was flat out negative.
Has anyone seen this before? I know poorly differentiated ductals with lobular features can show reduced e-cad, but has anyone seen this in a well differentiated almost tubular carcinoma?
It looks like I may got me a case report!
