Hey guys,

I applied in June and just finished five interviews since August (in order, UF, NSU, Harvard, NYU, UNC) and I haven't heard anything from Columbia (main concern) or Penn.

I feel like if they haven't called me yet for an interview, it's just not gonna happen: they're just not that into me. Anyone had late interviews from early aps? Are any schools more likely to do this?

Thanks

Curious about this as well. From what I gather schools like USC and NYU do re-review applicants especially after Dec 1st, don't know if Columbia is one of them though.

I also applied the first week of June and also have not heard from Columbia.

I turned in my AADSAS Aug. 7 and I heard from Columbia about 2 weeks ago for a Jan 22nd interview.

If you apply late and don't get an interview it seems more obvious what you could have done wrong, ie. applying earlier; so I understand why you guys might be concerned since you applied earlier but the other factor is of course that they just didn't see what they were looking for in your application and you haven't been invited. It's not like applying early means you are going to get an interview automatically.
People need to stop acting like they are entitled to an interview for one reason or another and just wait. Seriously, who knows how schools make decisions. For all I know, they could just put all our names on ping pong balls, stir them up, and call it out lottery style. 😛

I can't help but feel you are just saying all this because you've already gotten an interview. It's only human to worry -- and this forum is often the only outlet that people have to voice their worries and receive feedback from people in similar situations (i.e. support group) -- and you're post wasn't very supportive.

I am also in the same boat. I have interviewed at UF, NYU, Harvard, UPenn, Temple, NSU and Arizona but have not heard anything from Columbia, BU, and Tufts. What gives? Anyone having similar problems with these particular schools? I can maybe understand Columbia but I heard BU and Tufts have already filled up their pre-Dec interviews...why not me?

I've interviewed at Penn, Harvard, Columbia, UCSF etc. but have not heard from Tufts nor BU. Don't know how true this is but I've heard that BU doesn't like to give early interview invitations to those who they think are less likely to go to their school.

Hmm...i think i read that on SDN a few weeks ago. Not sure if this is true. Anyone else have the same issue? I think Columbia might have not liked me because it seems that they go for HIGH DAT scores regardless of GPA.
