Can you apply early decision to a medical school even though you are not even half way done with your prerequisites?

You can list future coursework on your application, although I imagine a limited amount of pre-reqs may affect how thoroughly adcoms can assess your performance in said classes.

wait what are you talking about early decision? that doesn't exist for med school.

it depends on the school. Some schools apparently have core competencies now, so prereqs aren't technically necessary. Other med schools say it's okay to apply with 1 or 2 prereqs missing, but if it's more than that then you shouldn't bother.

Edit:MCAT and GPA also play a part. If you haven't taken the courses and then you score badly on the sections, then that looks bad. But if you score well on the MCAT for those prereqs, then you'll be good

Brown medical school says they have early decision on November 1st but I may be reading the site wrong.

that's for if you're in high school and you're applying to a combo of Brown undergrad and Brown med school.

Early Decision does exist for many medical schools. You apply at an earlier date to a single school (I believe it's August 1st or 3rd for most schools) and commit to attending that school should you receive an acceptance. You cannot apply to other schools until a decision is made regarding your acceptance/rejection. This can put you at a disadvantage should you be rejected, but there are some advantages to applying ED at certain schools.
