I just finished e-submitting my application and sending my secondary for Early decision to colorado. I noticed that for every pharmcas early decision program, the deadline is september 3rd (or august 30th in the case of colorado). The school site says "must submit pharmcas by august 30th" and the person at colorado admissions said "a lot of people apply august 30th so maybe get it in a few days before". However.. if pharmcas takes 5 weeks to process and Early decision interviews are in september or early october.. early decision applicants must get an advantage in pharmcas processing time. does anyone know if this is true? Because the colorado admissions person said i would be fine applying a few days beforehand. Seemed strange to me.

I don't know if PharmCAS gives ED applicants priority. That would be an interesting question to ask them. As far as I know, PharmCAS processes apps in the order they get them. As long as you submit by the deadline, schools don't penalize you for the PharmCAS processing time. You might end up with a later interview date than other applicants who got it in earlier. Since this is really early in the application cycle, PharmCAS probably doesn't have many apps to process right now so I would expect it won't take anywhere near 5 weeks for them to get your app through.

Just an update. I discovered that pharmacs indeed verifies and mails ED applications with priority ahead of regular decision applications. I got mailed 5 days after e-submitting. I realize this wont help anyone here this year, but at least it will be on record if anyone wants to know this in the future.

Under the section titled: "early decision" it lists that verification and mailing takes place for ED applications ahead of regular applicants.

I'm wondering if I should have done early decision. I was told by a counselor that you have to have ALL prereqs finished and taken the PCAT to be considered for ED (which I do not have yet). But I heard from another person that he did early decision without finishing all of the prereqs. Which is true?
