When you're to lazy to cook or eat out (because of the applications, studying, mcat, etc.), what do you eat? The Germans have an oustanding idea:

that looks disgusting.

I used to be a big Taco Bell fan but can't stand it anymore. sushi is always a good go-to but it's just expensive. there's a good local thai place which has amazing food and reasonable prices. it gets a lot of business from me.

oh, you said too lazy to go out to eat.. ehh, I just eat cereal a lot. or make a quesadilla

:barf:

I don't like hamburgers anyway... but that just really sealed the deal for me.

I'm a fan of soup when I don't have much time/energy.

I'm a big fan of Trader Joes Roasted Tomato and Red Pepper Soup. That and a Grilled Cheese sandwich is the perfect meal.

Del Monte Fruit cups (love peaches)! Or I usually eat some ice-cream (butter pecan or rum raisin), not too much...don't want a brain freeze.

Oatmeal, oreo and milk, club crackers with cheese, soy milk, instant noodles with an egg, etc.
I stock crackers and cheese spread in bulk.

application process took a toll on me. It all started with taking the MCAT in August. Before then I wouldn't touch fast food and swam for an hour every other day. After the app process I ate mcdonalds, taco bell, started drinking soda again... this is double bad since im diabetic too.

good thing i dont gain or lose weight... i've been 5'10" and 140lbs since i can remember. But my cardio has definitely dropped

That has to be fake.

Heat, closed system, explosions, etc.
I sure hope so because if you ate that the vomit that came out after wouldnt be so fake!

OP: Buy microwave corndogs and nuke those things...mmnmn mmnmn good!

one of my favorite quick (and cheap) meals as of late:

2 min in the microwave, about $2 in materials...

yeah that Tyson chicken is good stuff. easy to make, tasty, and its lean protein. I usually make sandwiches with it... i need to try it with rice that sounds good.

I definitely think I have put on a few pounds since the start of this horrific experience back in August. I used to rarely eat fast food, but with classes, secondaries, mcat, interviews I would eat whatever. Med school is killing me before it even starts!

Me too! Ever since I started juggling the MCAT, applications, my full-time job, and spending time with the wife and kid, seems like I've put on a few pounds. I even got my cholesterol checked the other day, and it's a bit high (229). Time to start eating better (no more of the burgers above😉), exercising, and relaxing a bit before school starts.

The 'rents have a Sam's Club membership, so I buy stacks of canned chicken. It's the kind of stuff you add to make casseroles or keep in bomb shelters since it has ~10 year shelf life. If I'm creative I add celery, carrots, mayo, and make a sandwich. If I'm not so creative, I add ranch dressing and eat it out of the can.

I also enjoy PB&J.

It sort of looks like there's something growing down on that bottom corner....😛

Trader Joe's has a tasty version of the microwave rice pacs. It is brown and wild rice with quinoa (superfood!)

Also, ziploc makes these totally cool steamer bags. Place in frozen veggies, microwave for 4minutes, and season. Easy clean up.
Slow cookers are also pretty low key: just add and let sit. I use mine to make homemade tomato sauce, pumpkin soup, chili, etc.

fruit snacks. lots and lots of fruit snacks. some good ones are scooby doo, betty crocker princess (not disney), and my little pony. and batman. i consider myself a fruit snack connoisseur of sorts.

snackwise, i like to get a can of pineapple tidbits and cut up a banana in it. i usually eat this post workout to avoid gorging on chips, cookies, the like.

when i cook, i have this really easy healthy mac and cheese recipe that i make a lot. whole grain pasta, broccoli, a blend of cheeses and garlic powder. easy and takes as much time as the box junk. it might be good if you cooked up some bacon and crumbled the bits into it, but then it wouldn't be so healthy. sometimes i make a big pot and split it up into portions that i eat all week for lunch.

fast food, chipotle chicken burritos. . . mmmm

taco C like none other...

however, today i ate three boxes of thin mints... damn girl scouts! 😡

agreed... Scooby doo fruit snacks are the best... Other than that I do fruit cups, applesauce, Chef Boyardees, Spaghetti Os (with grilled cheese), Campbell's soup, celery and peanut butter, banana and peanut butter, pb&j, macaroni and cheese

if only all food came like this... i truly hate cooking 😛

I have to admit that ever since I started taking night classes/studying for the MCAT/working nights in the hospital instead of spending my nights either in the gym or playing ultimate, I've put on a few pounds. All the fast food (whatever is available between job and class/ job and hospital) certainly doesn't help.

Anybody else just trying to get back in shape before school starts? I've totally increased my treadmill time since getting that acceptance. At least I might be able to start school in decent shape.

There's a few different flavors of rice... I generally don't go with the long grain.

I also forgot to include the third ingredient:

Haha, yeah, I put this on literally everything. The garlic hot sauce flavor is even better

Here Here.

pb on whole wheat bread followed by pb on whole weat bread followed by pb on whole weat bread followed by pb on whole weat bread followed by pb on whole weat bread

followed by a box of oreos in milk

I also do the rice (whole-grain) and chicken thing (or venison) along with a bit o' salad. Throw tomato sauce in the rice, add some chili powder, good to go.

I also make quesadillas with whole-grain tortillas, chicken, black beans, and a bit of cheese.

I'm kind of a whole-grain nut. I bought 12 grain bread the other day, but it was white bread. Its disgusting, or so I feel.

I also keep apples and bananas on hand because they're quick and easy to eat.

I lost 10 pounds since the application process started. Here's to being too poor to eat anything other than granola bars! 😛

But if I'm going to splurge...Eat Unique cafe. Delicious soup and sandwiches!

I don't get it though... the application process isn't that time consuming.
I don't eat well because I'm lazy, not because of the application process.

I have put on more than a few pounds. I was about 15 lbs. overweight at the start and I gained another 15 over the process. Curse the deli across the street from my apartment and the new Chipotle a couple blocks away! Now that the process is almost over for me, I have started cooking again and have switched from a very processed diet to one that is about 95% unprocessed. And the TV writers strike was a blessing, as I've been spending all my free time working out instead of watching TV.

Cooking is great if you know how. Yesterday I picked up 3/4 lb of fresh salmon, a package of zucchini, and a steam-fresh vegetable pouch. I pan roasted the salmon, oven roasted the zucchini, and microwaved the other veggies. I deglazed the salmon pan with some white wine, lemon juice, and a little butter, threw in some capers and fresh cilantro, thickened with a pinch of flour, and poured over the top of the salmon. The zucchini was washed and thoroughly dried, split in half, sprinkled with kosher salt and pepper, and drizzled with a little olive oil -- roasted at 400 and finished in the broiler for a little char. It was healthier, cheaper, quicker, and better tasting than going out.

Edit: This was for 2 people.

It's only 9 am and that sounds really good... 👍 to you

ugh the same has happened to me but it happened more around the MCAT than at any other time. I think I basically funded the Wawa next to the library while studying for that stupid exam. And ever since I got all my secondaries in I have actually taken up cooking since I find it so relaxing. It has also helped bring down my baluga status

sorry but there's no way that the black magic you just described is faster than going to the corner sandwich shop and picking up a sub.

Wow, I'm 5'4 and about 140 lbs. You must be quite lean.

Haha, yeah, I should start eating healthier. It's not the cooking that I mind, it's the shopping for all the ingredients and then clean up afterwards that I find a hassle. I feel like if I had a magically stocked pantry and self cleaning kitchen ware, I'd be cooking all the time. 🙂

Not faster than fast food, but much faster than any sit-down restaurant. Fish and vegetables cook fast, 15 minutes with very little prep.

Yeah, cooking is awesome, and I'm not too bad at it. I don't really even mind the shopping that much. But I really really can't stand cleaning up the kitchen afterwards, especially since we don't have a dishwasher. Sometimes I beg my boyfriend to do the dishes but usually I'm just like,'let's go pick something up so we don't have to wash the dishes.'

It's really a combination of laziness and lack of time...it just takes forever to wash everything!

I'm 5'11" and 155 is my goal weight. I haven't weighed that since high school.
