Eating through the application process.

I'm 5'11" and 155 is my goal weight. I haven't weighed that since high school.

Haha, you guys make me feel fat 😛

It's ok, I could stand to trim up a little. The good thing about having weight class competitions, is it kept me weight conscious. 😛 Apparently, you don't want to be on the low end of the next highest weight class in a martial arts competition...haha.

I definitely think I have put on a few pounds since the start of this horrific experience back in August. I used to rarely eat fast food, but with classes, secondaries, mcat, interviews I would eat whatever. Med school is killing me before it even starts!
I don't get it though... the application process isn't that time consuming.
I don't eat well because I'm lazy, not because of the application process.
First semester this year i was working full time, finishing applications/starting interviews, and taking night classes after just moving to a new city and into my own apartment. I definitely gained weight/it was that time consuming. When you're traveling for interviews and you can't cook for yoruself and you're in airports at midnight and train stations and there just aren't a lot of healthy options, i know i definitely treated myself to crappy snacks and i'm sure most people do.
This semester i finisehd up (just had last two interviews), and i'm not taking classes, so all i'm doing is working full time. I've already lost 23 lbs, go to the gym 4-5 times a week, switched to a vegan diet, cook/prepare all of my own meals, and feel soooooooooo much better.

I love to cook, in fact, I find it very theraputic. When I'm cooking, I don't really think of anything else, so it takes my mind off life. Plus, I can cook pretty much whatever I feel like and as well as MOST (obvioulsy not all) restaurants. This week it was and will be:

1)lasagna but with spinach and hot italian sausage and garlic bread (made with Zingerman's AMAZING parmesean pepper bread for you Ann Arbor people)
2) Lamb tagine (Morrocian lamb stew... seriously, I'm sure jesus eats this every night, its that good)
3) some pork curry thing with raita and homemade chapati.

I've recently discovered the shock and awe of buying spices from the bulk food market and grinding them youself. It cost maybe 10% of the store and SO much more flavor. Seriously, if you like to cook, go get a $10 spice/coffee grinder and try it... SO worth it.

I'm going to miss Ann Arbor's markets/stores... For food, this place is amazing. Zingerman's bakehouse/creamery is my temple... pecan raisin bread + stilton = orgasm, just FYI.

ugghh airport food... i gave in to many a cinnabon on my travels this year. that stuff is rough on the wallet, too.

I LOVE to eat, and unlike some lucky souls, I tend to overeat when I'm nervous as opposed to lose my appetite. I've dropped about 10 lbs since the app season opened back in June, but much of it has been due to taking up boxing.

Right now, I'm craving milk chocolate with hazelnuts...AND it's a day off from the gym. Hmmm!

i basically live of quesadillas. my roommates actually make fun of me.
also the birdseye voila garlic chicken is really good

Has anybody else tried that snack food "yogos Bits???" They are awesome, and I think im addicted.
