Hi everyone..
I was wondering for those that have done the clerkships, residency, or graduated had any ideas on an interesting topic to present? I have a brief 10-15 min talk on anything OBGYN and want to steer clear of topics that are either too eclectic/esoteric or yawn inducing to the attendings that have heard a particular topic 10 million times.

basically, something evidenced based AND interesting...

I'm kinda in a rut searching uptodate and ovid etc

Risks and benefits of magnesium for preterm labor is a HUGE controversy right now and will get everyone's interest. There are some recent nice studies about this. Don't forget to post here or on OB/Gyn what you conclude.

Edit: Current management of twin-twin transfusion syndrome is of interest these days as a second choice.

Some interesting evidence based medicine stuff from an OB resident:

Any use of tocolytics in preterm labor. Mag, indocin, procardia...does anything work?

Management of PPROM. It's currently changing, with a new bulletin not too long ago.

IVF pregnancies and number of embryos transferred. If you'd like a good debate.

Screening for gyn malignancies. Using CA125 or not.

Hope that helps.

cool...thanks erin!!~
Hopefully I'll have a topic that everyone hasnt heard...or isnt too boring...~ I want something that can be interesting for both residents and attendings...I'll look into them~

I stumbled upon this list of resources for evidence based practice in Ob/Gyn just yesterday. Seems appropriate to post it here. If you haven't decided on a topic yet, there are quite a few here.
