The thought that you're not interested in Medicine would cross my mind.


but now I am not so sure since if one does it during junior or senior year it may question their devotion to medicine. Do any adcoms wish to chime in?

On the other hand, when asked "if not medicine, what would you do?" you can point to the internships and say that you 've tried out x and z and didn't feel that those were long term options for you for the following reasons.... but that ___ fit well with your skills and interests and you would consider it as a career if medicine were not a possibility. Some interviewers seem to like the idea that you've explored other careers and made an informed decision to choose medicine.

True that. Looks like it's 6 to 1, half a dozen to the other. OP, if you're truly interested in these opportunities in other fields, go for it.
