I am in a fraternity(at a christian school). I know what comes to people's mind when they think frat, so my question is, would it be wise to put on an application that i have held many leadership roles in my fraternity? Just for a leadership stand point.

Frats are seen in a new light now a days. It's becoming more known that a large population of frats are academically related somehow. Even if you are in a social frat, I would put it down if I held leadership positions. It's no biggie, taupac.

Yes, they are seen in a new light, but I bet you are referring to people in the under 30 crowd.

My dad (in his late 50's, probably the same age as many adcom members) interviewed somebody for a job and he listed "Chair of Social Committee of [insert frat]". While I am not sure what my dad based his decision off of, that bit of 'leadership' impressed him so negatively that he continues to make fun of it years later.

ha, i am by no means the "party planner." I am in charge of the social service section(which i think sounds a little better myself).
Only reason i would put it would be because it has enfluence my life greatly. i also figure it shows a little different angle on the normal pre-med student.

Leadership is leadership. If you had an officer position within your fraternity, your ability to uphold responsibilities, fulfill chapter goals, and lead a group of individuals definitely counts as leadership, and in my opinion, it can be listed as part of your leadership experience.
