Hey guys a mate of mine just got prescribed this and being lactose intolerant he'd like to know if there's any lactose in this medication. I did a google for him and didn't really come up with anything. Does anyone here know for sure? My mate gets easily worried and this is making it hard for him.

Alright thanks, what about in the normal Effexor?

there IS lactose in the normal effexor. But will ~200mg of lactose really casue problems if all he has is an intolerance?

Well he's severely intollerant. I don't understand how the XR can have no lactose but the normal Effexor does?

Isn't the XR just a longer lasting version?

btw his doctor has prescribed him Effexor XR not the normal one.
