Einstein waitlist

I have been put on the waitlist since the end of March. Does anyone know from previous years when they will start taking people off the list? How many people are usually accepted from this list? I am also waitlisted at New York Medical College. I'm trying to stay optimistic about this whole thing. What are the chances of getting off the list from either of these schools?

Let me be the first to welcome you to SDN. I will be attending AE in the fall and as most of this Forum will tell, I've loved the school since I visited in the Fall. (I also can't be too sad after they surprised me with my FA package.) I believe that they accept over 500 students to fill their incoming class of 180. So, there is a good amount of movement on their waitlist. Much of the movement is result of students choosing SUNY Downstate/Stonybrook or NYC schools over AE. My best suggestion to you would be to write a letter of interest to Dean Kerrigan and also your interviewer.

Congrats on being accepted to AE! I have already written a letter to Kerrigan and I also sent in two new rec. letters. I sure hope this will help. Do you mean that they have already accepted 500 people?

According to 'Gower': About 45 will be accepted after June 15, with the greatest number in July.
Stated on Einsteins web site:

Approximately 400 applicants are placed on the waitlist. Beginning in May, the waitlist is reevaluated and halved. By July, 50 applicants remain active. The wait list is not ranked.
They are still in the process on interviewing. I have an interview scheduled for mid-May.

I interviewed on Mar 8th, but they said my application wouldn't get reviewed for another two or three weeks.

I'm not sure how many students have been accepted to Einstein thus far. I do know that on January 15th, they accepted ~180 students, which is enough to fill their incoming class. From that point, they continue to admit, waitlist, and deny students. I think the 500 number is approximately how many students they accept in the end to fill the class. (i.e. they keep accepting until they fill the class and the number happens to be around 500.) Good luck with everything and I hope to see you in the fall

I am an international. It doesn't look too good. They accepted only 5.

The Admissions Committee will meet through the end of June. By then, or
shortly thereafter, you will be notified of the status of your application.

I heard that Vandy rejects most of the people on the waitlist this month... I guess rank may not be necessary..

Unfortunately, yes I got off the waitlist but was rejected early this week. Good luck to everyone else!
