Hi.

The passage stated that Aurora A is important for formation of bipolar mitotic spindles. The question asked which phase of mitosis would be affected if there is a decrease of Aurora A expression. I choose prophase, however, their correct answer was anaphase? Can anyone explain? I'm thinking it is a typo, as the itotic spindles begin to form /appear in mitosis. Thanks!

Should be prophase and used to facilitate separation of chromosomes.

The only reason it could be anaphase is that they're most significant there such that chromosomes are migrated to opposite poles by shortening of spindle fibers
