Is anyone finding the EK Lecture test to be overly difficult? I just took Bio Lecture 2 and bombed it. Just seems like all the lecture test in general have a higher level of difficulty.

I actually thought Bio Lecture quizzes were pretty easy. I usually scored between 10-12 on them. But the Physics and especially GChem, are quite another story. Physics and GChem quizzes were brutal.
I'd say the Bio 30-minutes are pretty good practice for the real thing. But don't get discouraged, and keep practicing and working.

I found EK to be relatively difficult at times and seemed to average 10s on most of the tests. But, I got a 36 on the real thing, so I wouldn't worry too much about how you are doing on the little exams. Just keep at it.

Don't feel bad, they're supposed to be difficult. There should be a message somewhere in the book that states that the 30 minute lecture exams are difficult on purpose.

Do you do the lecture tests cold (lectures only) or do you complement the lectures with practice problems ? I find this especially true for physics, but hey- that's just how I learn good.

Personally, I used the entire EK set. Takin' the lecture exams after plowing through the lectures were a hit or miss- easy or hard. Complementing them with practice problems while going through the lectures helped tie the concepts to applications. Plus it helped me remember the formulas and problem-solving process mo' better.

But then, it really is ALL about the MCATs. (God! She is such a dramaqueen.)

So whatever helps you learn best.

You are supposed to take the test right after reviewing the materials as a result EK made the questions harder. This helps you learn the material, but the score doesnt mean much.

There have been many threads on this in the past, and most agree that the questions in it are pretty hard.

EK's full lengths arent even very representative of the real test. So i wouldnt expect the 30 min lecture exams to be anything close to representative of the real MCAT

and for me personally, i was scoring lower on those things than on practice AAMC's and the real test.

I finished reading EK Bio and took most of their lecture exams awhile back and I didn't do too well on them either. My scores ranged anywhere from 8-11. I feel that the tests were too hard and quite frankly poorly written (and solutions too brief) compared to some passages that I've seen in Kaplan and TPR. This thread might help:
