I've been doing TPRH and I thought I improved a bit. But when I start to use EK verbal I keep getting 6, which is like 50% correctness. I just feel they are very different. Is EK really more close to the real thing? I'm scared...😱

Anyone has any idea?

And anyone has used the EK 16 miniMCATs? How you feel?

Dude, chill out! You do understand that the language and questions are SIGNIFICANTLY different between TPRH and EK? It happened to me when I switched from TPRH to EK. Just don't flip back and forth, finish TPRH first then move over to EK (1.5 months before your test date) otherwise you won't get the feeling of the format.

It is true that EK is more closer, but gauge that through the AAMC FLs. I normally hit 7s on TPRH and 10 on EK, but on the AAMCs I'm at a 9. Things are different for everybody. Just remember, don't get discouraged!

I'm almost finishing TPRH and I will start either EK or TBR tomorrow. So you think EK is easier than TPRH for you? For TPRH I can always eliminate some obvious stupid choices but for EK every choice looks attempting! And I feel EK passages are longer too.

Btw I have exactly 1.5 months left now...

You might be thinking about details too much, because TPR is very very detail oriented compared to EK.Try focusing more on main idea and tone. I know it's frustrating, but do not get frustrated, it's just practice.

I haven't practiced verbal in so long because I know I'm not going to improve in a week (MCAT next thursday lol). In the end, no matter how much I tried, there was nothing I could do about it.

Also, do you look at the explanations when you finish passages?

I look at the explanations on the day after. I guess I do have main idea/attitude problem during the reading.
