48. A 100 kg man stands on the left end of a 100 kg board 2 m long which sits on a frictionless surface as shown below. Where will the left end of the board come to rest if the man walks to the right end of the board and stops?

A. -2
B. -1
C. 0
D. 2

The board and the man are both at 0. I thought the answer was -2 because since the man needs to move two meters to get to the end of the board, shouldn't the board also move two meters to the left? Can someone clarify this for me?

49. Beaker A contains a volatile solvent, and beaker B contains a 10% solution of a non-volatile solute in the same volatile solvent. Both beakers are placed in a closed environment as shown. Which of the following is true once the closed system has reached equilibrium?

A. Beaker A will contain all the solvent
B. Beaker B will contain all the solvent
C. Beaker B will contain 90% of all the solvent
D. Both beakers will contain the same amount of solvent

The answer is B, but I don't get how you know that ALL of the solvent will move over to that beaker. I understand Raoult's Law and how addition of a solute will lower VP, but don't understand how you can tell that all of it will leave and go to the other beaker.

Thanks!
