I have the 3rd edition of the EK Verbal book (from the complete set, not 101 passages).

The 30-minute exams have solutions but not a word's worth of explanations. Do the newer editions have explanations for the answers to the 30-min exams?

I'm pretty sure the newer ones have explanations. I think I had the 5th edition and I recall there being explanations. If no one posts a definitive yes or no, then I'll take my old EK books out of the closest and look it up.

Thanks. I'll see if I can borrow a newer edition - I assume the passages are mostly the same (given the affinity of EK for rehashing old material in new formats).

I own the 6th and 7th editions, and they both have answers to the verbal reasoning exams.

P.S. It's not just EK that re-formats material and passes it off as new. Every single test company does it to prevent a used book market. Most changes are extremely minor unless the standardized test itself changes.
