I have used practice materials from blueprint, uworld, aamc but still struggling in

Chemistry:
-Log based math (pka, pH, Ka)
-Molarity / titration
-Exponents
-pressure & volume

&

Physics:
-When to apply appropriate formulas
-Trouble remembering relationships between formulas/units

Any recs? Thanks!!!

If you're really struggling with these concepts, and review books and practice questions don't seem to help, it is usually worthwhile to use a textbook instead. It will likely take longer to read through a textbook, but it's excellent for developing a foundational understanding that isn't provided by review materials. For general chemistry, I know the Petrucci General Chemistry: Principles and Modern Applications is used in many courses, so consider borrowing it from a library if you can.

If you are struggling with the Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems (C/P) section of the MCAT or a similar exam, here are some tips that may help you improve your math skills:

  1. Review basic math concepts: Make sure you have a solid foundation in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. You can review these concepts with a math textbook or online resources like Khan Academy.
  2. Practice with sample questions: Practice solving sample C/P section questions, including math-based questions, to get familiar with the types of problems you will face on the exam.
  3. Focus on problem-solving strategies: Learn problem-solving strategies, such as working backward, drawing diagrams, and breaking down complex problems into smaller parts.
  4. Work on your speed: Time management is critical on the exam, so practice working quickly and efficiently through math problems.
  5. Take a prep course: Consider enrolling in a prep course, which can provide additional instruction and practice problems.
  6. Seek help: If you are still struggling, consider seeking help from a tutor or teacher who can provide one-on-one assistance.
Remember, the key to improving your math skills is practice, so don't give up and keep working at it. Good luck!

EK???
Also most bookstores sell QuickSheets with useful formulas...you sound like you are struggling with math more than science itself. It might be worth it to buy an algebra textbook. Just an idea.

For knowing which formula to use, make a list of knowns vs. unknowns.
Units will help a lot with that (match units to equation type/formula).

Other than that, Kaplan really is the best source. I annotated EK with Kaplan.
Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions!
